Effective Date: June 27, 2026

Summary

This Privacy Policy explains what information Asteria AI ("Asteria," "we," "us," or "our") collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By creating an account, installing our browser extension, or otherwise using the Service, you acknowledge and agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

This Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service, which govern your use of the Service.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide, information generated through your use of the Service, and information collected automatically, including:

  • Account information — your email address, username, and account identifiers.
  • Credentials — your password, stored only in hashed and/or encrypted form. We never store passwords in plain text.
  • Inputs you submit — text, prompts, questions, uploaded files, images and screenshots, and other content you send to or capture through the Service.
  • Outputs — AI-generated responses and related content produced by the Service.
  • Usage data — features used, actions taken, settings and preferences, session and activity data, the websites and pages on which you use the Service, timing and performance metrics, and approximate cost or token usage.
  • Device and technical data — browser type and version, device type, operating system, language, and similar technical identifiers.
  • Network data — IP address and general (approximate) location derived from it.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — as described below.
  • Payment-related data — billing and subscription metadata processed through Stripe. We do not collect or store full payment card numbers.
  • Communications — information you provide when you contact us for support or submit feedback or reports.

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate, provide, maintain, and secure the Service;
  • Generate and deliver AI responses and process your inputs and outputs;
  • Authenticate accounts, process payments, and manage subscriptions;
  • Monitor for, investigate, and prevent abuse, fraud, security incidents, and violations of our Terms;
  • Measure, analyze, and improve performance, reliability, accuracy, and features;
  • Provide customer support and respond to your requests;
  • Personalize your experience and remember your settings;
  • Deliver, measure, and optimize advertising and marketing;
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

Inputs, Outputs & AI Processing

To produce responses, your inputs (which may include text, files, images, or screenshots you submit or capture) are processed by us and transmitted to third-party AI and infrastructure providers acting on our behalf. We may also store, cache, and process inputs and outputs to operate, secure, debug, and improve the Service, including to improve response quality and accuracy.

You are solely responsible for the content you submit and for ensuring you have the right to submit it. Do not submit information you are not permitted to share, and avoid submitting sensitive personal information you do not want processed. We do not use your identifiable personal data to train external, third-party foundation models for those providers' own purposes.

Targeted Advertising

We may use the information we collect to support advertising and marketing, which may include:

  • Personalized advertisements based on usage and inferred interests;
  • Retargeting on third-party platforms;
  • Measuring advertising performance and effectiveness;
  • Using cookies and tracking technologies for advertising optimization.

Where required by law, we will obtain consent or provide an opt-out for certain advertising activities.

Cookies and Tracking

We and our partners use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to:

  • Keep you logged in and maintain sessions;
  • Store your preferences and settings;
  • Analyze usage and performance;
  • Support advertising and analytics.

You can disable or remove cookies through your browser settings, but some features of the Service may not function properly as a result.

How We Share Information

We share information only as needed to operate the Service and as described in this Policy, including with:

  • Service providers and processors — including providers that support payments, AI processing, hosting, infrastructure, security, analytics, and communications (for example, Stripe, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Cloudflare, and Discord), who process data on our behalf and under our instructions.
  • Legal and safety — when we believe disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or government requests; to enforce our Terms; or to protect the rights, property, safety, or security of Asteria, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, in which case information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
  • With your direction or consent — when you ask us to share information or otherwise consent.

We do not sell your personal data to unrelated third parties for money. Some sharing for advertising or analytics may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" under certain laws; where it is, we will honor applicable opt-out rights.

Data Retention

We retain personal data for as long as necessary to provide the Service and for legitimate business purposes, including to:

  • Operate and provide the Service;
  • Comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations;
  • Prevent fraud and abuse and maintain security;
  • Resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data, subject to retention we are legally permitted or required to maintain. Some data may persist in backups or logs for a limited period after deletion.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • Request deletion of your data;
  • Restrict or object to certain processing;
  • Request portability of certain data;
  • Opt out of certain cookies, advertising, or "sale"/"sharing" of data;
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond as required by applicable law. You will not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot and do not guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for activity that occurs under your account.

International Data Transfers

We operate in the United States, and your information may be processed and stored in the United States or in other countries where we or our service providers operate. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your location. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to these locations.

Children's Privacy

You must be at least 13 years old to use Asteria AI. The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such data, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, please contact us.

Third-Party Services

The Service may operate on, link to, or interact with third-party websites and services that we do not control. This Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please review their policies separately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
